Testimonials from My Clients
Carol – Bristol’s Granny
Rose Willett screened my 8-year-old granddaughter, Bristol, for Irlen Syndrome.
I cannot stress enough how beneficial it has been for Bristol. None of us knew that the words weren't holding still for her, that it was so difficult for her to focus.
I remember the screening well. Ms. Willett asked Bristol to read a paragraph out loud. It was difficult to witness her struggling to finish a sentence. Rose placed an overlay over the page and asked her to read a different paragraph. It was startling! She was able to read it without hesitation! It actually took my breath away, and I started crying.
Ms. Willett has done a tremendous job of explaining everything to Bristol and her family. Bristol explains to classmates, teachers, administrators, photographers, anyone who isn't aware, why it's so important for her to have her tinted lenses.
I've been impressed with the attention Ms. Willett has given our family. She checks in often to get updates on Bristol's progress in school, to make sure things are still going well.

I recently met Rose Willett through the Dyslexia Foundation of Western Colorado to explore an Irlen Syndrome screening beyond what they could do. She has been an absolute blessing for our family.
Our ten-year-old daughter has always had trouble with school, since pre-school. She has never really liked school. She would score low on the standardized testing, year after year and we kept thinking it would “click and she’d catch up”. She is now in fourth grade and still having
major difficulty with her reading and math. I work for the school district and spoke to some Special Education teachers and one referred me to the Foundation.

The Foundation referred us to Ms. Willett because she has been doing Irlen Screenings for 12+ years and was willing to meet with us. We met one Saturday for a couple of hours and she explained more about Irlen Syndrome. Ms. Willett gave us different tips that could help my daughter while in the classroom and we discussed how glasses would be most helpful for her, even in sports.

Ms. Willett was amazing with my daughter both times we met with her; she was so calm, kind and gentle. She explained things to us in terms we could understand, which meant a lot to me. She helped my daughter not feel bad about having Irlen Syndrome and actually helped her feel special about it. Ms. Willett checked in with my daughter throughout our meeting making sure she was ok and that it was not too much for her. Ms. Willett noticed when my daughter was too tired to continue and we ended the meeting.
Ms. Willett said she would look for some different programs that we could use at home to help my daughter catch up on the foundations for her reading and math.
... I cannot say it enough; meeting Ms. Willett has truly changed our lives. My daughter is hopeful about school for the first time in a very long time. We are eager for her to receive her colored lensed glasses and see the difference they will make in her education. I feel like I could reach out to Ms. Willett at any time to continue to troubleshoot things for my daughter. Ms. Willett is a lifetime educator and I hope she will be able to continue to do work with/for Irlen Syndrome.
Erika's New Lenses
I was pleased to watch Ms. Willett work with my young niece on her initial Irlen screening a few years
ago. The change was incredibly dramatic in her ability to focus, read easily and out loud, and improve her overall performance in school. It has made a significant impact to her happiness.
Following that initial encounter, I then decided to get my own screening. I am a VP of Finance with over 25 years of experience in my field. I had been experiencing increasing migraines for some years, my memory retention of what I read was declining, and my eyes were having increased trouble focusing on my screens and the printed word.
I worked with Ms. Willett on an initial screen, and we discovered together that I had some sensitivities that were alleviated with the help of overlays.
She did an outstanding job of helping me through the process. I had not admitted to myself or anyone else the increasing difficulty I was having with type print, leading me to completely replace hard copy books with audio books. That was a sore subject for me, and she did a remarkable job in helping me admit that without feeling like a failure. She was kind, professional, and provided insights I was not expecting.

Ms. Willett was with me every step of the way, helping me understand the process and some of the reactions I was having in a way that made it very personal and accepting for me. I don’t know that I would have reacted to the process as well as I did if she had not been there for additional support, despite having seen the remarkable results with my niece.
Rose Willett has proven to be a caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated Irlen Diagnostician.
